WHAT DOES BEING LICENSED MEAN?

Being a licensed professional means that I attended a certified Cosmetology School and had to achieve all of the requirements needed to graduate from the school in order to be eligible to take my State Boards and become a licensed Hair Stylist & Esthetician.

Being a licensed professional comes with a lot of knowledge and understanding of sanitation, disinfection, and general laws, and skills to be able to uphold a high standard for my clients.

WHY SHOULD YOU HIRE A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL FOR YOUR EVENT?

With the beauty industry booming and youtube/self-taught makeup artists on the rise, it can be enticing to want to hire the cheaper option, what could be the harm? There are many amazing makeup artists out there that may know what they are doing when it comes to their own face but they may not understand the seriousness of sanitation and disinfection when it comes to working on multiple people at an event, or even keeping products sanitary for future use on other clients. Hiring a licensed professional for your services ensures that you will be safe and that you will feel confident for your special event, portrait shoot, or day to day life.

FAQ

How long have you been licensed for?

I have been a licensed Hair Stylist & Esthetician in Oregon for 10 years now.

what made you get into the cosmetology industry?

I wanted to find a career that I could be creative in every day and be successful. I had a friend in high school whose mom was a hair stylist and she really opened my eyes up to the industry and the many opportunities that it could bring.

How did you learn how to do makeup?

Practice, practice, practice. I spent many late nights before I was licensed creating extravagant makeup looks for the sake of practicing my skills. I think being an artist before ever doing my own makeup helped a lot. I have a good understanding of the color wheel and a steady hand. Growing up I wasn’t much of a girly-girl, so when I discovered the cosmetology industry I was drawn to the creativity behind it rather than the impossible “beauty standards” portrayed by society.

What is the cost of services?

The cost of most services can be found on my scheduling system. Some services are subject to change depending on how long they would take to complete, amount of products used, or what has previously been done to your hair.

When should I reserve my wedding date?

I highly recommend reserving your wedding date 6-12 months prior. That way you aren’t scrambling the month before your wedding to find someone who is available. A lot of vendors are booking out pretty far in advance with the demand of services since Covid.

What is your favorite service to do?

All of them! I truly love each and every service that I provide and am happy that I have a career that encourages me to practice my skills and learn new things on a daily basis.
